Official Rules & Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
Participation in Chaitanya CTF 2025 constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and all posted rules, announcements, and clarifications on the official Competition website and Discord. If you do not agree, please do not participate.
2. Eligibility
- The Competition is open worldwide unless prohibited by local law.
- Participants must be at least 13 years old; those under 18 must have parent/guardian consent.
- By participating, you represent that your participation does not violate any laws or organizational policies applicable to you.
3. Registration & Accounts
- Registration requires a username and a valid email address.
- Participants are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and all activity under their accounts.
- Impersonation, false affiliation claims, or account sharing outside explicit allowances is prohibited.
4. Teams
- Teams must register a unique team name and designate a team captain.
- Participants may not compete on more than one team.
5. Rules & Code of Conduct
5.1 Rules
To ensure a safe and fair competition, the following is strictly prohibited:
- Attacking or attempting to hack any systems outside the official competition infrastructure. Off-limits targets include servers and platforms not affiliated with Chaitanya CTF.
- Sharing flags, solutions, hints, or account credentials with other teams.
- Running automatic scanners, brute-forcing flags, or exploiting unintended vulnerabilities on the platform.
- Attempting to manipulate scores or disrupt other teams' ability to participate.
Flag Format: All flags are in the form:
Example: HPTU{_some_l33t_string_l1k3_7hi5_} unless otherwise stated.
5.2 Code of Conduct
Chaitanya CTF is committed to a safe and positive environment for all participants. All participants are expected to:
- Be respectful, patient, and constructive.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior.
- Notify staff of any unacceptable behavior.
Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Sharing personal or sensitive information without consent.
- Harassment, abuse, or discriminatory conduct toward other participants.
- Disruptive or unlawful activities.

All reports are confidential. Participants are expected to comply immediately with staff directions. Organizers may take action, including removal from the platform or disqualification.
6. Fair Play & Score Integrity
- Flags must be obtained only through legitimate completion of challenges.
- Brute forcing the scoreboard or exploiting platform vulnerabilities is strictly forbidden.
- The dynamic scoreboard means that challenges solved by more teams yield fewer points per team.
Scoring Formula: Points decrease from 500 to 50 based on the number of teams solving a challenge.
7. Privacy & Data Use
- Limited personal data (username, email) will be collected for registration and competition purposes.
- Game traffic and submissions may be logged for scoring, auditing, and security.
- Data will not be sold and will only be used to operate or secure the event.
8. Intellectual Property
- All challenges, infrastructure, and content are the property of Chaitanya CTF and its contributors.
- Reproduction or reuse outside the Competition requires prior written permission.
- Submitted write-ups remain the property of participants, but submitting them grants Chaitanya CTF a non-exclusive license for educational purposes.
9. Prizes

Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes or legal requirements. Eligibility verification may be required before prize distribution.
10. Challenge Details
- The competition will feature at least 30 challenges in classic categories: Web, Crypto, Pwn, Reversing, and Misc.
- Challenges vary in difficulty: beginner-friendly, medium, and a few hard challenges.
- Dynamic scoring ensures competitive play.
- If participants are certain about a flag but it is not accepted, they may contact staff via Discord.
- Bugs in the contest infrastructure may be reported for potential rewards.
11. Technical Setup
- Participants are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection.
- All challenges can be accessed through the official Chaitanya CTF platform.
12. Enforcement & Disqualification
Organizers may warn, restrict, disqualify, or ban participants at their discretion for rule violations. Decisions by staff are final.
13. Warranty & Liability
- The competition and related services are provided "as-is" without warranties. Participation is at your own risk.
- Organizers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation.
14. Updates & Announcements
- All announcements, clarifications, or changes will be posted on the official website or Discord.
- Registration remains open until the end of the competition.
